SEAN'S NOTES ON ECSTASY TONE
The following are some tips to help you get the best sound out of your Ecstasy amp:
1. Keep your midrange control between 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock. Your guitar is a midrange instrument there for you need mids in your sound.
2. If the sound is too dark or compressed lower the bass control on that channel. The bass control is only for the preamp, you will have all the bass you need from the Excursion control on the power-amp section.
3. The more gain you add the smaller the tone. Too much gain compresses the sound and thins out the midrange.
4. Also keep in mind the characteristics of speakers, Celestion Vintage 30's are bright on top and tight and punchy on the bottom. Celestion Greenback 25's have a warmer top end, good mids but a softer low end. Celestion G12H30's fall in the middle with more even frequency response.
5. Don't be afraid to tweek the controls, like turning them up to 10 or down to 0. The Ecstasy was made to have the warmth and soul of a vintage British amp, for those wanting that sound. We have also equipped it with features to get a very modern sound as well. So feel free to tweek the sound in any direction you need to go and you will find it. If you look at the Artist List you will see all of the different users who were able to get their sound out of the Ecstasy.
Have fun! Sean Colligan
